We operate an internal Safety Management System which incorporates OHS, Environmental as well as Flight Operations and Maintenance activities for the company. Our safety team has a dedicated quality and safety manager as well as departmental and site representation to ensure that our policies are applied, revised and adhered to across all our sites. Having the largest flight school in Australasia, it is ideally placed to train pilots for private and commercial licences, as well as conducting safety checks of its own pilots and offering this service to other fleet operators. Heliwest is constantly working in challenging and potentially high-risk environments, where safety awareness can be critical to the success of the mission. Our staff training, aircraft maintenance and client contact approaches are all robustly designed to underpin our commitment to excellence at every level. Heliwest actively participates in a comprehensive audit program including over 100 internal audits as well as more than an audit a month from external clients, certification and regulatory bodies. Certification bodies and programs include Bureau Veritas, ISN, Achilles and the Flight Safety Foundation BARS Program. Every Heliwest employee takes personal responsibility for the quality and safety required by their role, which means we can follow a clear path for any procedure, flight or incident.
