Hand surgery is a specialised area of surgery which has skill sets derived from Orthopaedic, Plastic and General Surgery. Hand surgeons originate from each of these three base surgical specialities; and in some countries hand surgery is a completely separate surgical entity in its own right. Both during and following surgical training, Dr Graham, Dr Butler and Dr Loch-Wilkinson all made efforts to work with Orthopaedic, Plastic and General Surgery trained hand surgeons; both in Australia and abroad.
