What is Ibrutinib
Ibrutinib 140 mg is a drug used in the treatment of certain types of cancer, especially blood cancers such as chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL), small lymphocytic lymphoma (SLL), mantle cell lymphoma (MCL), Waldenstrom macroglobulinemia, and marginal zone lymphoma. It belongs to a class of drugs known as Bruton's tyrosine kinase (BTK) inhibitors.
BTK is a protein found in B cells, a type of white blood cell involved in the immune system. By inhibiting BTK, ibrutinib impedes the growth and survival of cancer cells, helping to slow the progression of the disease. And it is often used when other treatments are not effective or have stopped working.
Ibrutinib is taken in the form of a tablet or capsule. It can have side effects, including high blood pressure, bleeding problems, diarrhea, and infection, so it is important that patients consult their doctor before taking it and take it under medical supervision.
