When a man is unable to achieve and/or maintain an erection that permits sexual activity with penetration, it is known as erectile dysfunction (impotence). It is not an illness, but rather a sign of another issue that may be medical, psychological, or a combination of both. It's important to distinguish between erectile dysfunction and low libido, which is the lack of desire in sex or the inability to ejaculate or experience an orgasm. Retrograde ejaculation (into the bladder) and premature (too early) ejaculation are two distinct issues that require a separate approach to diagnosis and treatment. Erectile dysfunction can occur sometimes. There is no need for concern if you occasionally struggle to get or maintain an erection.
