Poll Highland Cattle
The Poll Highland Cattle Society Inc. began in 2015 after many horned highland breeders found the attraction of breeding the Poll Highland. The poll highlands or dehorned highlands are much easier to handle in the yards for humans and cattle. They are a gentle breed most of the time and without the horns it gives breeders more confidence. The new Health and Safety rules and regulations within Australia will make it more difficult to send horned cattle to markets, abattoirs and cattle shows without removing the horns.
