Jeffamine D230 is a polyetheramine that is characterized by repeating oxypropylene units in its backbone. It is a difunctional primary amine. Its average molecular weight is 230. Its primary amine groups are present on secondary carbon atoms that are at the end of the aliphatic polyether chain. It is used as an epoxy curing agent and it reacts quickly with isocyanates. For surfactant use, salts can be formed readily. It reacts with carboxylic acids in order to form hot melt adhesives. Jeffamine D230 has low viscosity and low vapor pressure.
