(2-Hydroxypropyl)-?-cyclodextrin can crosslink to form longer polymers. This overall is a very useful chemical for supramolecular chemistry. (2-Hydroxypropyl)-?-cyclodextrin is also used in the solubilization of macromolecules and in cell culture applications.
