Teleporting is now feasible, instead of the 10+ minute

game,

Update: Despite all the work I did and WOW TBC Gold setting my FPS at an amount that kept the card at less than a 50 percent load, I continued having issues with flickering during a Kara raid last night. Therefore, I decided to completely disabling Freesync and it appeared to finally fix the issue.

It was disabled through both the monitors (both are the same brand with different sizes/models) and also my AMD GPU settings. This seems to have solved the issue. I will keep in mind any additional issues.

Original Post: So I've been having problems with flickering, but I'm not sure to declare it full in studdering. But for a bit now. It's been happening for a while and has become a nightmare to troubleshoot. It was at the point where it was making me insane, so I decided to investigate.

The short version is that it has been a while since Windows permitted multiple monitor refresh rates to function after almost 13 years, Microsoft seems to have solved a long-forgotten issue in how Windows deals with multi-monitor refresh rates. The Windows 10 Desktop Window Manager (DWM) caused frame-skips and stutters while operating multiple monitors at different refresh rates. Windows 10 2004 20H1's DWM has been updated to support the use of hardware-accelerated GPUs in WDDM 2.7, finally seems to have resolved this issue , as shown by one user on Reddit.

When I noticed this issue I went from having an 144hz main screen and an alternate 60hz display to each of my monitors being 144hz. I decided to do this because I did not want to bother the process of upgrading my system right now and that old 60hz monitor was long due for an upgrade anyway.

However in doing so I made the switch to a larger main monitor , which meant my GPU was now able to handle an increase in pixels both at the same high rate of refresh. My GPU had to work, despite being good enough for the classic WoW. It wasn't up to the task.

I noticed that even when all addons turned off, no regardless of the version of DX I used, VSync would be on or off regardless of the GPU was pushing its limits, the game would display a amount of flickering. Zones such as Nagrand, with all of its lush foliage would force me to keep my GPU working at its maximum which ultimately led to being throttled.

It seems that WoW does not appreciate my GPU throttle. My CPU wasn't even running at a brisk pace, but with my GPU at its limit, I would see the flickering. The flickering became more noticeable due to add-ons.

My game's FPS limit was set to 60. It made gaming more enjoyable. It's pretty annoying since after playing for a while with a faster refresh rate you'll notice that the refresh rate has buy WOW Burning Crusade Classic Gold return to 60 FPS but it's still superior to the flickering I had been dealing with.
