Income Protection insurance allows Australians to cover up to 75% of their monthly income. It can replace up to $10,000 a month of lost income, allowing you to focus on getting better.
People who are seriously ill or injured can often take several months to recover. AAMI Income Protection offers a choice of either a 1-year or 2-year benefit period, with premiums for 1-year benefit periods being cheaper.
If you need to make a claim, your monthly benefits will commence after a waiting period of just 30 days (your sick leave and other leave entitlements can often provide an income during this time). While you're receiving your monthly benefits, we'll let you take a break from paying your regular premiums so as not to reduce your income.
