Nowadays, more and more people are practicing yoga, but in fact what is this and how can it help? Well, yoga is a sport in which we practice certain exercises that not only can make us look better, but also improve our health. You would probably ask, how could a simple sport like yoga help us be healthier? Well, I will present to you eight reasons to practice yoga and what health benefits you can get from this sport.

1.      It makes you more flexible. This is probably one of the most known and obvious benefits that yoga can have. By practicing all sorts of exercises repeatedly you will be able to do them faster and easier. Even if you probably have muscle pain after your first classes, the pain will disappear and you will feel great.

2.      Makes your muscles more strong and betters your bone health. By working your muscles not only you will look better, but also you reduce the risks to have arthritis or back pain.

3.      Protects your spine and helps you have a better position. If you have a job that requires staying very much time on a chair, you will have problems with your neck and head. Also, very many people can have an incorrect position when resting too much time in the same way and our spine has to suffer. Practicing yoga not only it helps you adopt a better posture, but it will also prevent the risks of making hernia.

4.      Increases your blood flow and ups your heart rate. Probably one of the most studied benefits that yoga can bring to our health. It is known that yoga can decrease our blood pressure and heart rhythm that can be very useful for people who have heart problems. It also helps to reduce the cholesterol level and enhances our immune system.

5.      It helps people who have breathing problems. Yoga is good for one of the most known breathing diseases, asthma. By doing exercises you learn how to breathe correctly and how to behave when you have an asthma attack.

6.      It gives you more energy. Yoga is well known for the energy that can give to our body when we practice certain exercises. You don`t need unhealthy energies,  just practice yoga and you will have much more energy.

7.      It gives you a better sleep. Many persons have sleeping disorders. Even if is caused by stress or only insomnia, it is known that yoga can help us sleep better. By practicing yoga we fell more released, our muscles are more relaxed ad we can have a quick nap anytime.

8.      No more stress! One of the main reasons why people start doing yoga is stress. It is said that some yoga exercises, if they are done correctly, can help you free your mind. The first thing when practicing yoga is to let our mind open and focus on exercises and breathing. Some yoga classes also teach us how to meditate. So, yoga is not just a mere sport, but is a way to recreate our brain and relax our body.
