When these particles brush against each other, attrition constantly reduces their number. This decrease in disproportionate scale is detrimental. Energy is lost as heat is created, flow is reduced and particles are becoming too tiny. The most current hammer mills have an air-assistive device which draws air with the grounded product into the hammer mill. Systems have been engineered to reduce the pressure on the screen outlet to disrupt the fluidised surface of the material, allowing the particulate matter to flow into screen troughs. Any hammer mills in the entire circle are built such that the show is in two parts.
