Weft Extensions
Tips for Caring for Hair Extensions
If you're thinking about getting weft extensions,
or if you already have them, then you'll want to know how to take care of them
so they last as long as possible. Here are some tips:
·
Brush your extensions daily with a soft
bristle brush. Start from the bottom and work your way up.
·
Wash your extensions every 7-10 days
using a mild shampoo and conditioner. Avoid products that contain sulfates or
alcohol, as these can strip the hair and cause it to become dry and brittle.
·
When drying your hair extensions, use a
low heat setting on your blow dryer and be sure to hold the dryer at least 6
inches away from the hair. Use your fingers to gently comb through the wet hair
while drying.
·
Avoid excessive heat styling, such as
flat ironing or curling. If you do use heat, be sure to use a heat protectant
spray beforehand.
·
Be careful when brushing your hair
extensions near the roots, as too much pressure can cause the bonds to slip
out. If you're having trouble detangling any knots, try using a wide tooth comb
instead of a brush.
