A Dentist’s-Eye View Of Your Teeth
It can be difficult to conceptualise dental disease and damage without actually seeing it for yourself. Dr Goyal has made it possible for you to see exactly what she has seen during your appointment. Each room is equipped with a dental camera, a device about the size of an electric toothbrush. Dr Goyal uses the camera to capture images of difficult-to-see details like cracks in teeth and under fillings, deteriorated fillings or where tartar has accumulated around the back teeth. During your appointment you’ll be able to see your own images projected onto a computer screen. Your questions are welcomed and will be answered in detail, and treatment options will be clearly explained. You can even take copies of the images with you.
Preventing Dental Disease
Prevention is a big focus of the Garran Dental team. Residents of Canberra are fortunate to have access to everything needed to prevent dental disease: clean, fluoridated water, plenty of fresh produce and tooth-friendly foods, as well as access to quality dental health products like toothpastes, toothbrushes and floss. Dental disease is entirely preventable, so its presence represents an imbalance of all the factors that keep our teeth healthy. Dr Goyal’s role is to identify the cause of that imbalance and to help you to tip the scales back towards health.

We’ve installed overhead televisions so that you can watch free-to-air TV or a movie (which you can bring on DVD or USB drive). Or bring headphones and listen to your own music, audio book or podcast on your own device. Otherwise you may simply prefer Dr Goyal’s gentle conversation.
