We are a group of licensed psychologists, counselors, and social workers, practicing independently under one roof.
We provide state of the art psychological counseling, trauma therapy, and EMDR, in a calming and supportive environment. Our approach is holistic in nature in that we consider the mental, physical, and emotional aspects of each individual’s experiences. Our intention is to facilitate healing, growth, and change as each individual moves forward on the path towards a calm mind, a well body, and a peaceful heart.
Dr. Gold is a licensed psychologist who has extensive training and experience in helping people deal with the broad range of concerns that present across the life span. Additionally, she has developed expertise in addressing eating disorders, compulsive eating, sexual, emotional and physical trauma, PTSD, anxiety, depression, and women’s issues.

She believes that a crucial component of effective therapy involves helping people gain awareness of the ways that past experiences impact current feelings and beliefs. By providing a warm and caring therapeutic environment, her intention is to help individuals approach their issues with increased levels of compassion, thereby facilitating positive change and growth. This allows old patterns to be released making way for more positive and productive ways of relating to self and others. Dr. Gold provides individual, couples, and group therapy.

Dr. Gold views the body, mind, and spirit as being integrally connected. As such, her approach involves a consideration of the entire context of a person’s life. This perspective has led her to pursue post-graduate training in several innovative and cutting edge modalities that actually can help to “speed up” the healing process. These include : EMDR, HeartMath®, Energy Psychology®, and clinical hypnosis (see below)

Dr. Gold has worked in the field of psychotherapy for close to thirty years, and has been practicing in Wilmington since 1994. She initially provided services in university settings including the University of North Carolina at Wilmington. Beth Westmoreland, MSW, LCSW, CPP is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who has spent the last decade working in a variety of settings, helping families deal with unique challenges.

She has experience working with substance use treatment, adult mental health, and child mental health, both in outpatient and community-based settings. While she’s comfortable working with a variety of individuals, she has expertise in working with trauma, children, parenting, depression, anxiety, post-partum issues, and families.

Ms. Westmoreland’s goal is to help you be your best version of yourself. She believes that we all hold the ability to change and grow but that sometimes things in life can become a stumbling block. This could be something from our childhood replaying itself as an adult, a need for increased skills, or a need to have a safe space to gain increased awareness and reflection. While working to support you in gaining new skills, she will always work to understand the root of the issue that brings you in to therapy. It is no small choice to ask for support, and Ms. Westmoreland will work to meet you exactly where you are and will always show up to sessions with her whole self to help you be your best self.
She is currently rostered as a Child Parent Psychotherapist which is an evidenced based practice for children 0-5 and their caregivers. Ms. Westmoreland has spent the past 5 years mastering this model. She works with an identified caregiver and child in a playful and creative manner to foster and nurture a secure attachment while also facilitating healing from any traumatic or difficult experiences.

Ms. Westmoreland is in the process of becoming an EMDR trained therapist, which is an evidence based trauma treatment for adults and children. She utilizes a trauma-informed, developmental, and strengths-based approach, and, based on your needs, can incorporate psychodynamic theory, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing.
Ms. Carol Bennett, MSW/LCSW, is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. She has experience working with individuals experiencing depression, anxiety, loss/grief, end of life issues and decision making, and the impacts of chronic and acute illness on holistic well-being.

Ms. Bennett has worked extensively as a hospice social worker, dealing with end-of-life issues and grief work. She also has experience in gerontology, adult mental health, and clinical supervision.

Ms. Bennett’s philosophy in working with clients centers on change always being possible, and providing the supportive, therapeutic relationship that makes the difference. This includes acceptance, being non-judgmental, and always striving for the client’s right to self-determination.
