Winston Johnston for Division 5

Winston Johnston is a Lifelong Hinterland resident, businessman, community worker, and former Caloundra City Councilor. Due to the retirement of long-serving Councillor Jenny McKay, Winston will nominate for Division 5 at the March 2020 Local Government Election.

Mr. Johnston knows each area of Division 5 because he was born, educated and raised near Maleny, where he lives today with his wife Helen. He has also lived in Woombye and continues to regularly visit all parts of Division 5. His highly successful award-winning general insurance brokerage, Your Insurance Broker (YIB) began as a small business in Maleny in 1980, expanding to subsequently operate from offices in both Caloundra and Brisbane. By 2005 YIB was the third-largest privately owned General Insurance Brokerage in Queensland. He is now an independent retiree and has been a Justice of the Peace (C. Dec.) since 1986.
