Emiratisation Nafis
Emiratisation UAE government initiative that aims to increase
the number of Emirati citizens employed in both public and private sectors. The
program focuses on creating a skilled Emirati workforce and encouraging
companies to hire them.
While the public sector has seen success, the private sector
lags behind. To address this, the government offers incentives and enforces
quotas. For instance, companies with 50 or more employees must achieve a 2%
annual growth in Emirati hires for skilled jobs. There are also new rules for
smaller companies, with those having 20-49 employees needing to hire at least
one Emirati in 2024. Overall, Emiratisation aims to boost the UAE economy,
create opportunities for Emiratis, and promote a more balanced workforce.
