I recently purchased a watch from this store. I had to return it the next day as the battery was flat. The lady who sold me the watch was not present , l was served by a young blonde women who tested the battery and stated it was dead. She kindly replaced it. Today l returned the watch as the leather band was terribly frayed and broken at one end. The person in the store who sold me the watch , just two weeks ago, implied that the frayed band was not the original band, as the other in the store had different stitching on the back. The watch sold to me, had clearly been in the display cabinet for some time for the battery to be dead, so it is fair to assume that bands change over time to suit the buyer market etc. Secondly, its ridiculous to believe that the Sekonda brand ( since 1966) has only ever used one style of black leather band for its watch faces, especially since it states on its website that it consistently reviews and extends its ranges. It's not so much that the band was a cheap leather band, as that is not a mistake of the retailer . To imply over and over that it was not the same band , suggesting that l was lying or my daughter had put another band on , that was broken and frayed ( seriously why would she bother) , was frankly rude, tenuous and disappointing customer service. My husband and l purchased our wedding bands from this store , and my friends and l shop here for gifts, as we like to support small business rather than the big franchises. Needless to say, l wont be shopping here again.
