The mild climate in winter and cooling sea breezes in summer, Raymond Island is at the centre of the Gippsland Lakes, the largest inland lake system in the southern hemisphere. Enjoy swimming, bushwalking, sailing, boating and fishing in a pristine environment…or simply relax and just be. Island life is the best. Once upon a time in Berlin – West Germany there was a young couple who fell in love and dreamt about a little house at the end of the world – just like the lyrics of a popular song of the time…. Since the 1980’s Swan Cove has welcomed visitors to this cherished end of Raymond Island – to its home at the end of the world.’ put there by luck and love, a tribute to its former creators Carl and Ingrid Poeschel. Resident in the tall gumtrees and Old Man banksias are fluffy koalas, spiky echidnas, a family of tawny frogmouth birds, cheeky parrots, magnificent sea eagles and friendly kangaroos. The 2 storey bespoke cottages are secluded off a beautiful long winding driveway and are but a few metres from the water’s edge with its safe sandy beach.
