Bringing Middle Eastern Cuisine to
the Heart of Melbourne
In October 2012 chef and owner Adi Daboush opened the
doors of Tavlin Restaurant in Caulfield South.
Growing up watching and learning from his grandmothers
cooking he was inspired to bring this authentic Middle Eastern cuisine to
Melbourne.
Tavlin – means spice – and accurately describes the
flavor sensation from eating the food. Adi has a unique way of blending flavors,
textures, colors and spices into all of the food that is freshly made daily on
the premises using only fresh high quality ingredients with no preservatives or
additives.
The menu offers a selection of different salads and
dips and freshly baked Laffa bread made to order. The main attraction is the
charcoal grill where meats marinated in traditional Syrian spices are slowly
cooked so they are tender and juicy.
Tavlin has
brought life to an otherwise quiet street corner. The restaurant is a
casual environment and you’d be forgiven for thinking you were eating in your
family home.
