The
fluorine-containing drinking water was defluorinated with the self-made active
magnesium oxide [XMgOYMg(OH)2]. The experiment showed that the activation
temperature was set at 440?, and the
activated magnesium carbonate [Mg5(CO3)4(OH)•2O], the intermediate product of
calcining, was put into 100ml5mg/L of fluorinated water at 0.3g for 1.5h. The
F- could be reduced to 0.06mg/L after 24H40min of treatment.
When the activation temperature is set
at 430? and the heat preservation is 1.5h,
the active magnesium oxide can treat the fluorinated water with a pH of 5 ~ 8.
The fluoride content of the purified water after 0.4g is 0.16 ~ 0.44mgF-/L, and
the defluorination capacity is 1.21 ~ 1.14mgF-/g. The pH is good for human
health.
When pH of fluorinated water is 9, the
defluorination capacity drops to 0.51mgF-/g. When the concentration of raw
water is 12.5MgF -/L, the defluorination capacity is 2.33mgF-/g, which is
higher than that in the literature with chromatography silica gel as the
carrier, active magnesium oxide as the adsorbent and 1.72mgF-/g dynamic
defluorination capacity.
